Jo A. Baldwin

Jo A. Baldwin has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), a master’s degree in creative writing from UWM, a master’s in speech/theatre from Marquette University in Milwaukee, a Ph.D. in English from UWM, and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

She is a retired professor of English and a retired ordained Itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Eighth Episcopal District, but still the pastor of Baldwin Chapel AME Church – named after her at the 143rd Session of the North Mississippi Annual Conference in 2017 under Bishop Julius H. McAllister, Sr. Her presiding elder is Rev. Archie R. Smith of the Northwest District and her bishop is the Right Reverend Stafford J.N. Wicker.

Baldwin Chapel AME is now known as “The Church Inside and Beyond the Walls” because she can be heard every Sunday morning at 6:30 AM CST on WKOZ 98.3 FM. Streaming access is www.breezynews.com. Click on Cruisin’ 98 “Listen Live” banner.
